People almost always leave a trace or clue during a murder. That's why it's best not to try and hide it, but just to have a good reason why it was okay to kill them.

And, in Texas, "He needed shootin' yer Honor," is a valid defense.

Well, I've been off and on the phone with them since 11am my time, almost FOUR HOURS. RML on the way. sigh.

I told the guy if they insist on repairing it they must get it to play Star Trek Online without crashing before sending it back. That is their bench test.

Well, it's on the way back now.

I have to wonder, though, if possibly the near constant demand of power to the video cards over taxed the power supply and caused it damage?

Nvidia recommends 750 watt minimum power supply for running dual 470's.

If you overclock, 1000 - 1500 watts power supply. Those cards pull some serious wattage.

Damn, that is a nice system.

Well, I did spring for the Coolermaster 1200 Watt power supply, thinking it'd be good enough. And I didn't overclock the cards, though the CPU was overclocked.

I'm really at a loss. Normally, I'd do simple work on a system myself; but with the liquid cooling, I really am afraid to do it.

Oh well. Back to mid ranged graphics until it comes back.

Well, I emailed them yesterday and asked about the status. It is supposedly being worked on again. I was told when I sent it back that they'd test it on STO before shipping it back again, but the person who emailed me today said that wasn't possible.

So I asked to forward the correspondence to a manager, because I didn't want a third system that won't work sent to me. Today is day 91 since I placed the order. I've had the computer in my possession for less than 10 of those days.

Frankly, if it won't play the 3d games I bought it to play, I'd rather just have my money back.

At the rate you're going, your service contract will be up by the time you've got your puter back

For purposes of scale and reference, the blue fan you see inside the case is a 240mm fan (just a hair under 9.5".) The monitor is actually a 32" (81.28cm) Insignia 1080p LCD TV set.

The keyboard is a Cyborg backlit keyboard with an extra 12 function keys for hotkeying gaming commands. To the left of it you can see a Logitech G13 game pad, with 22 macro-able function keys per each of four savable settings. And the speakers you can barely see are part of the Bose Companion Five system.

All told, you're looking at about $3900 worth of gaming system. That FINALLY works correctly.

(In contrast, the blue book value of my car is $1500...) Priorities.

Nice setup!

LOL it's a time ratio thing. More time in the car or in front of the screen. Very justifiable.

I'm just gonna take those pictures and... I'll be in my bunk.

Well, to be fair, I will get considerable use out of it for my home business. So, it isn't like I just plonked down that kind of money on a pleasure toy. Fortunately, my work and my play require the same gear sometimes.

A man after my own heart. For many years, I've kept the following posted up in my various offices, cubicles, taxi cabs , etc...

"A master in the art of living draws
no sharp distinction between his work and his play,
his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body,
his education and his recreation.
He hardly knows which is which.

He simply pursues his vision of
Excellence through whatever he is
doing and leaves others to determine
whether he is working or playing.

To himself, he always seems to be doing both."
